Merrimack Valley Chorus

Eileen returned to Merrimack Valley Chorus as our director in December, 2003, and is thrilled to be leading "this wonderful group of marvelous women who also happen to be fantastic singers." She would be quick to tell you that this is one of her most exciting and challenging roles in Sweet Adelines. MVC is thrilled to be the recipient of her upbeat style, musical skills, and teaching talent.

Eileen joined Sweet Adelines International in May, 1979. Since then she has worn many hats both administrative and musical as president, treasurer, music committee member and regional board member. She honed her director skills both as an assistant section leader and as assistant director.

Eileen has further indulged her passion for barbershop music by singing the lead part in several quartets and loves the friendship and support quartetting has afforded her.

Apart from Sweet Adelines, she works full-time at Pinkerton Academy in Derry, NH, as the administrative assistant to the director of the technology and applied science department. She lives with her husband Sal, son Steven, mother Margaret, and yellow lab Jake, on beautiful Big Island Pond. The Gioes make the most of swimming, boating and cook-outs during our all-too-brief summers.

Eileen and MVC are moving forward with our mission to entertain audiences and constantly improve our singing skills within the Barbershop style.
